Saint John School

Saint John Preschool still has a few spots open for the 2007-2008 school season. For further details,
call (760) 634-1522.

Our school proudly celebrates its 50th year anniversary in 2007! Our parish is deeply committed to Catholic parochial education, and the gift of our school is truly a blessing. Saint John School again received a maximum 6 year full accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Visit the links on our site to go the school's website.

Sunday Mass Obligation

The precepts/laws of the Church follow the Lord more precisely - "On Sundays and Holy Days, this faithful are bound to attend Mass." This obligation is satisfied by assistance at Mass, either on Sunday, or the evening prior. The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and confirmation of our Christian practices.

Did you know people who attend religious services weekly experience slower pulmonary decline, regardless of smoking or physical activity? A dose of religion offers emotional support and social contact, both of which improve your health!

We are obligated and are guilty of sin, unless illness, or care for the ill, prevents us from attending. It is difficult to understand those parents, who faithfully send their children to our school or religious instruction, then fail to recognize their obligation to - as a family - attend Mass each and every week. This is your duty, as a parent, to fulfill for your family this obligation, one that should have priority over all other activities.

Pro-Life Mass

Please join us for a pro-Life Mass and Rosary on the 1st Monday of every month. Our intentions are for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. Call Steve or Annette through the parish office.

Parents in Prayer

....is a group of parents and parishioners who pray the Rosary after the Thursday morning Mass while Saint John School is in session. Pray to Christ Jesus through Mother Mary who said in Scripture "My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed."
Luke 1:46-49

This is the 4th year of Parents in Prayer. Pray the Mysteries of Light or Luminous Mysteries as we ask the Blessed Mother to intercede on our behalf for all of our parish, school and community intentions. Rosaries and prayer booklets are provided. Children are welcome. For more info, call (760) 753-2958 or e-mail us here.

Promoting Our Vocations

Blessed Junipero Serra founded nine of California's Missions, persevering despite chronic foot infections and fatigue. Few know that Serra walked more miles in his work than the travels of Lewis and Clark and Marco Polo combined to spread the word of the Church. As the patron saint of Serra International (www.serraus.org) - this wonderful organization deserves our prayers as they promote an increase in vocations.
