DISCIPLINE -

Saint John School's primary goal is to nurture the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and cultural growth of each child.

The administration, faculty and staff, along with parents as primary educators, educate children to attain high academic standards in a Christ-centered environment where students form Catholic beliefs, attitudes and behaviors. We promote a rich sense of security and acceptance, which enhances each child’s self-worth. We encourage students, as unique individuals, to work cooperatively within a community, fostering mutual respect and appreciation for all. St. John School is committed to its mission to be a witness to the love Christ has for all.

Proudly opening its doors in 1957, St. John's School offers a curriculum which meets all CA State and Diocesan requirements.

The School offers classes for kindergarten through grade 8, and is staffed by dedicated, highly qualified and state certified teachers and parish and parent volunteers. The School's new building was completed in 1995, and offers modern classroom facilities and has its own library. The school also has playground and special use facilities, and offers day care for working parents.

The ultimate goal of all Catholic Education is salvation in Jesus Christ....take Jesus Christ the Teacher as the model of your service....If you are faithful to this ministry, you will be doing much in shaping a peaceful, just and hope-filled world.... - His Holiness, Pope John Paul II

The Story of Saint John School - The history of our school dates back to 1957, where the location of Saint John the Evangelist Church and the school was Melrose Avenue in Leucadia, California, just west of Coast Highway. The school's students were originally taught by Benedictine nuns from Oklahoma, beginning under the supervision of Father John J. Bradley, then for many impessive and successful years under Monsignor Harnett, and continuing today under Father Corcoran.

The new school building was completed in 1998, and Saint John's School now has nearly 500 students enrolled.
